Director Ryūsuke Hamaguchi is joined by Toronto International Film Festival curator Andréa Picard for a deep dive into the filmmaker’s explorative play in the space between documentary and fiction, library of literary references, and deep love for cinema. One of the most inventive voices in contemporary film and winner of the 2021 Academy Award for best international feature film (Drive My Car), Hamaguchi is known for his keen inquisition into the lives and circumstances of his characters.
